Online Poetry Communities: 10 Tips to Finding the Right One for you

Online Poetry Communities: 10 Tips to Finding the Right One for you

Online poetry communities, in their simplest sense, are sites you join to share poems and to meet other poets who also share an interest in poetry. However, finding an exceptional poetry site, dedicated to its poets, is not quite that simple. With so many poetry sites out there, how do you choose which one is best for you?

1. Membership Fees: Some poetry communities say they are free, once you join, however, you have to “upgrade” for additional features. Other poetry sites rely on donations, and advertisements. Look for a site that is no more than .00 annually.

Bottom Line: Find a site that only charges you ONE fee to use EVERY feature on the site.

2. Site Features: Look for a site that has tons of features, not just a few lame areas of posting and reading poetry. A good rule of thumb is this: For every .00 you spend annually, you should find ONE UNIQUE Feature of the site. If you are willing to spend .00, then you should get at least 20 UNIQUE Features.

Bottom Line: Find a poetry site that offers as much bang for your buck as possible.

3. Communication System: An online poetry community should be a community. An internal mail system, and an active Bulletin Board—a place where poets share ideas—is a must.

Bottom Line: Find a site that has a few ways poets can communicate.

4. Feedback System: Examine not only HOW you receive feedback, but the QUALITY of that feedback. Will you simply be getting brief comments? Is there a point system in place? Does that point system address areas of analysis that are important to you?

Bottom Line: Find a site that has a quality review system that provides you the feedback you are looking for.

5. Recognition Programs: Most poetry sites function as a fancy bulletin board for posting poetry. A solid poetry site encourages friendly competition, and a way for you to measure your progress. Being able to rise up the ranks, gain recognition from your fellow poets is not only fun, but rewarding.

Bottom Line: Find a site that encourages several recognition programs and poet rankings.

6. Site Layout: A poetry site should be clean, inviting, friendly, and easy to navigate. Many sites are just the opposite: laden with ads, thousands of words, and links that bring you everywhere but where you ought to be.

Bottom Line: Find a site that is clean, fairly devoid of ads, strong linking and ease of organization.

7. Poetry Database: Most online poetry communities lack meaningful poetry research tools. A site that provides its poets with as many links to resources as possible, is one has your best interests at heart. Bottom Line: Find a site that helps you learn poetry forms, movements, history, poets, etc., one stop shopping if you will.

8. Awards: Poor sites have either no award system, or a poor awards system. Quality sites invest in their members. Would you rather win a quality award, or receive certificates, magnets and bumper stickers in the mail?

Bottom Line: Find a site that is dedicated to giving back to its community in the form of quality, timely awards.

9. Support: So often I hear poets lament the fact that “no one seems to be behind the wheel.” A quality site responds promptly to its members, usually less than 48 hours. Send a trial email, see how long it takes to hear back.

Bottom Line: Find a site that responds to your concerns, questions, or suggestions within 48 hours.

10. Free Trial: Avoid any poetry site that does not give you AT LEAST a 7 day free trial. You should be able to access ALL the site features, not just a few teasers.

Bottom Line: Find a site that allows you a generous, all access FREE TRIAL, so you can fully understand its community.

Finding the right online poetry community doesn’t have to be difficult. If you asked me what ONE thing I would look for it is this: The more features a poetry site offers its poets, the more likely your experience is going to be a great one.

Six Reasons to Pursue a Hobby and Four Tips to Maintain Them

Six Reasons to Pursue a Hobby and Four Tips to Maintain Them

If you’re not yet pursuing a hobby, your reason may be one or more of the following:

I don’t have the time to maintain a hobby. I don’t have the money to maintain one. I think people will make fun of my hobby. I don’t know what hobby to have. I think maintaining a hobby is a waste of time money and energy. Hobbies are for folks who have nothing to do; I’m not one of them. I used to have a hobby but now I’m too busy to maintain it. I’m too old or young to have a hobby.

While your reasoning may be true “to some extent”, it cannot be 100 percent true. These are all just your point of view. We’ve all heard of the example of one person describing a half glass of water as half full and the other, half empty. Similarly, there is always a way to have and maintain a hobby which will take up as few resources as you can afford. But why have a hobby in the first place?

1. Hobbies are a good past time, a way to get away from the mundane boring life that most of us live through.

2. Hobbies have found to have a therapeutic effect by reducing stress.

3. Hobbies keep the mind active and creative, which is a good exercise for the brain. Mental exercise is as important as physical exercise.

4. Research shows that people who are more successful in life (be it in terms of wealth, health, fame or anything else) are ones who also maintain some hobby or the other.

5. There are umpteen instances where folks start doing something as a hobby and end up doing it as a very successful profession or business. It has even driven them to fame in books of world records.

6. Some folks have maintained a hobby of collecting something of no commercial value for years and years and then sold off their collection for huge fortunes.

Now, would you believe that you should have and maintain a hobby? If yes, I’m happy that my article has benefited someone. But before you start one, please keep the following points in mind:

1. You should love maintaining your hobby. If you think you will get bored in a few days or months, there’s no point pursuing it.

2. You should be in a condition to afford it. While some hobbies can be really expensive (like collecting paintings or other artistic work of one or more artists like Van Gogh), you can have a hobby which starts with almost zero investment (like maybe collecting used stamps); so know your budget before you start one.

3. Be prepared to give whatever time is required in maintaining your hobby. While some hobbies can seem almost like a full time job (like gardening on a 2 acre plot), some hobbies take only a few hours every month. Some hobbies only require being alert, for example, collecting out of print books of a particular author whenever you come across old book shops. So consider the time you can afford to devote before starting a hobby.

4. Do you have the physical energy to maintain your favorite hobby? Hobbies like gardening, dancing, etc require you to have sufficient energy, which you may find a little difficult to maintain as you grow older. Additionally, crushing workloads hardly leave any energy with us, these days. Don’t let this deter you; ensure that you give some time to it, however less it may seem.

Important Tips for Web Hosting

Important Tips for Web Hosting

After the registration of domain name selection of web host is another rational step a user need to consider. Though, finding an ideal host is a daunting task. One can find several companies offering web-hosting services to the clients. While locating keyword web hosting in the search engines one will find more than 100 million outputs!

One cannot deny the fact, for a successful online presence a dependable web hosting is must. Online presence and accessibility of a web site is must. If not, one should remain ready to loose clients and prospects. For an instance, if one compare this with a traditional business.

CATEGORIES OF WEB HOSTING:

One should select a web hosting deal according to his/her site. One cannot fulfill his/her requirements from same hosting deal for a personal web site, web site meant for email newsletter subscription and archives, e-commerce site or web forum. Web hosting can be divided into four prime categories:

1. Virtual (shared) hosting,

2. Dedicated server,

3. Collocation server and

4. Reseller hosting.

Two most applicable hosting are virtual (shared) hosting and dedicated server.

What is Virtual (shared) hosting? It is a condition in which several web sites share one server. It is a low cost hosting because price is divided between several users. One can locate a standard virtual hosting at a rate of 0 a year.

In a Dedicated server hosting company lease the whole web server from a particular web hosting company. The site of web server is the web hosting company. One can opt dedicated server as a suitable option who does not wish to share a server with other web masters. One can find a dedicated server in two forms managed and un-managed. If one talk about managed server, company will take care of all the setups of user’s server. However, in unmanaged server user needs to take care of all these by him/her self. The benefit of this sort of hosting is that one can fully lodge web hosting as per his/her requirements. Moreover, for a site with ample amount of visitors a dedicated server is the only rational choice. Due to higher cost, starting from 0 per month, those companies that know the worth of Internet business generally use it.

One can say that Collocation server is quite identical to dedicated server. Disparity lies in the fact that company doesn’t take the web server on lease. Their own web server is placed in the web hosting company. In addition to it, company has material access to their web server, which is not available while talking about a dedicated server.

If one mention about Reseller hosting it is aimed to those companies only wishes to begin their own web hosting business.

ASPECTS, WHICH ONE NEEDS TO CONSIDER:

There are many factors which a user needs to consider to prevent any future miss happens:

Web space:

Requirement of Web space vary from site to site. Off course, if user requirement is only a web site containing basic information about him/her and his/her work excluding the use of web applications, then space of 50 MB is quite sufficient. However, a complex e-commerce site along with numerous products in one’s database demands a capacity of 1 GB.

Bandwidth:

The term Bandwidth refers to data transferred from user’s web site and that comprise of graphic details, images, banners and files for download. One should have accurate knowledge of Content before going for an amount of bandwidth. When one talks about the majority of sites, bandwidth of 10 GB a month is quite sufficient, though for few other sites like sites related to desktop wallpapers can frequently consumes even hundreds of GB a month.

Up time or visibility:

It symbolizes time articulated in percents displaying the period a site remained online. One should not be cheerful because someone assured him/her to provide say for 98% up time because it is not going to fulfill his/her requirement. One should get at least 99.7% uptime. Believe it or not, it definitely matters.

Email accounts:

Email accounts are an integrated and crucial part of web hosting package. It is quite interesting to know for how much will one get only a so called catch –all forwarding which means that all emails sent to somewhere@mydomain.com will arrive to one’s email address or one can set-up email accounts for several users? Also the thing is for how much? Is it intended for 5, 10, 100 or limitless email accounts? In addition to it, there is no harm to verify whether user get a so-called POP3 email address (“real” email address), web mail or rather both? If one has a POP3 email address then he/she can check his/her emails via favorite email client and web mail facilitate the user to inquire his/her emails at any place demanding just a computer and Internet connection.

Form of Server, tools and control panel:

When one mention the two generally utilized hosting then the name of Unix-based or Windows platform comes first. It matters for the result program languages, databases and scripts that one can apply. When one talks about Unix-based platform, general selection is relayed to PHP language along with MySQL, however, when it comes to Windows platform ASP or ASP.NET language will be along with SQL Server. One should enquire that is database is available with package or not, if yes, then how many? Nowadays, contemporary web site must be database-driven.

Too, one should have full knowledge related to tools coming along with web hosting package, if there is only applications for web statistics, file manager and things it is not an concern issue.

Technical support:

A crucial aspect while selecting a web hosting particularly for a user without having adequate technical skills is technical support. A proper technical support does not take a responsive time more then a day. This is not liable only to selection of web hosting company, but, crucial to any of the company selling products and services, Software Company can be one of the examples.

The coordination of few of the companies is so well thought-out that it takes only 1 hour to give response to user’s queries! Through their source of contact one can predict about the future response. Do the concern company has only email support or also have phone support? Does they provide a toll-free number? Do they offer the facility of trouble-ticket system? Working time is another crucial aspect. What is their strategy of providing technical support is it during working hours only i.e. 9 to 17 or does they provide the facility of 24×7 technical support? An ideal way to detect their professionalism one can create a list of fake queries, drop a line to them and hang around to know their reply time.

Testimonials:

Several web hosting and software companies have this smart way to increase their customer strength. Testimonials section contains the approval of satisfied customers, attracting more people to their service. This section is not completely reliable. Several hosting companies offer their clients to analyze their portfolio, instead of doing that one should contact webmasters who are taking the service of concern host and register their opinions. One can take help of several sites for further information regarding best web hosting deals and suggestions.

Searching for the best web hosting company? Find sales, deals and discounts from top web hosts as godaddy and hostgator

Divorce – Court Room Tips

Divorce – Court Room Tips

When it comes to the Court Room, you will find this to be a pretty place.  Once the divorce proceedings begin, the outcome of your divorce is in the hands of a total stranger – the Judge.  You no longer have control. All decisions will now be made by a stranger. Of course this stranger may be having a bad day, not feeling well, or even have had a major fight with their spouse the night before.   I know it’s scary and may even seem unfair, but this is the real world and it happens all the time. This judge is now in control of the outcome of your trial.

Here are a few tips to help prepare you for the Court Room experience:

First, I strongly recommend you try to settle as many issues as possible before entering the Court Room.  This means the judge won’t be in control of everything.
Do not expect the Judge will always make decisions in your favor. There are three directions the judge can go when making a decision: Your way, your spouse’s way, or the Judge’s way. As you can see, two out three are not in your favor.
Discuss how you should act, and when to speak with you attorney before going into the courtroom. Do not speak unless asked to do so by the Judge.
When addressing the Judge with respect by addressing him/her as “Your Honor.”
Never speak to or make comments to your spouse when you are before the Judge.
Leave all hostile and negative emotions at the door. Do not make faces or gestures when the judge or your spouse’s attorney is speaking. Judges see this and do not appreciate it.
Dress for success. Your attorney will have a certain strategy on how he/she wants you to be portrayed. Therefore, consult your attorney on how he/she wants you to dress.
Take notes. Don’t leave anything to chance. Your attorney will be very busy during the process and cannot remember or write everything down.
Be prepared and stay organized. Bring as much information, documentation and any pertinent documents that you possibly can with you. It is better to have too much ammunition than not enough.
Be prepared to be in the court house for some time. You will sometimes wait for hours before your case is called.

Tips for Saving When Traveling in a Group

Tips for Saving When Traveling in a Group

Traveling in a group? You are the holiday packagers dream! Imagine being able to offload bulk airline seats, rail passes and entertainment packages in one booking. A group traveling is a wanted commodity and because of this you can secure great deals for your group. But as always, beware of any hidden ‘extras’ such as cancellation policies and preferred partners when stepping outside the package. Be prepared to shop around for the best deal.

Here are some tips for the traveling group on a budget:

1. Travel insurance can be bought through some companies where savings can be ten percent or more. A group usually consists of four or more. Contact a number of travel insurance agencies and compare quotes.

2. Pack as many people as you can into your hotel room (keeping it legal). The more heads in the room, the higher the number to divide the cost by.

3. Renting a car when traveling in a group of four is usually cheaper than buying travel passes – and more convenient.

4. Food, guidebooks, taxi fares can all be split between the group bringing costs down.

5. Rail passes for groups or pairs may find discount offers in some countries.

6. Some airlines offer discount rates to groups of ten or more traveling together.

7. Group package bookings that have everything included in the price will have all expenses covered so you won’t be surprised by any extra costs, apart from shopping!

8. Discount holiday packages for large groups of travelers are offered through a number of travel agencies. Sports fans may be able to travel to big events using one of these travel packages for much cheaper than organizing it on their own.

If you want to join a group tour so you don’t have to travel alone consider all the pros and cons. Will there be like-minded people? Is there any flexibility to the travel arrangements? If not, will this outweigh the savings you’ll make on joining the tour? Some travelers like the convenience of all the travel arrangements being made for them. Group tour operators will find the best fares and reputable places to stay in. This saves you the hassle but it may mean that some of the cultural experiences you want will have to be put aside for the relatively cheaper ride.

Traveling in a family group can also benefit from a number of offers. Inform your booking agent that it is a family and ask about any special offers or deals. Can you visit any amusement parks or tourist attractions at family discount rates?

When traveling in a group, never be afraid to ask for a discounted rate. Everyone involved in the tourism trade is looking to get large numbers on seats or through doors. Groups are welcomed and catered for accordingly.

Book Marketing Tips

Book Marketing Tips

You want to write a book – a very exciting and challenging undertaking. Good for you. You have a great book idea – an idea that you believe needs to be in print. You believe that other people have an interest in what you have to say. You believe that many people will buy your book, and if you do the job of writing correctly, many people WILL buy your book.

It is your dream to have your book in every bookstore in the country, perhaps even in several countries. But wait, have you planned beyond bookstore sales? Many authors are unaware that there are many markets for books beyond the bookstores. The bookstores may be your first market, but there are many other “hidden” markets, and here are some key book marketing tips to help you tap into those markets.

Let’s begin with the job of writing the book. When you put “pen to paper”, it is important that you focus on one audience but write for many markets. Let’s begin by identifying why you are writing a book. Some people merely want to be a published author, giving them claim to a copyright and their name on a book. That is satisfaction enough. They don’t care about the financial return or the development of writing or publishing as a career. Other people just want to write a family history and sell it to their extended family. Some people are interested only in selling to the attendees of their seminars. Many others, however, want to sell thousands of books in as many markets as possible. Decide at the beginning of the writing process why you are writing so that you can determine whether or not you are creating a business venture.

Once you have established your reason for writing, move on to what you are writing about. Don’t try to be all things to all people or the encyclopedic source of all information on a subject. Choose an area of a subject with which you are very familiar and develop your topic well so that you don’t overwhelm or bore your readers. For instance, if you are writing a cookbook, don’t try to be The Joy of Cooking – that’s already been done. Instead, write about a category of recipes, such as heritage recipes, or recipes of a region or culture, or recipes from famous restaurants, etc. Your goal is to make your book different, and better, than other cookbooks.

Having now decided on the why and the what, focus on the who, meaning who will buy your book. You believe that many people will be interested in your book, but let’s define “many”. Do you mean all of the people in your interest group, your church or your workplace, or do you mean everyone? A word of caution, though – there is NO book that is for everyone. Sure, everyone may need your book but not everyone will want it. If your book is a healthy lifestyle cookbook, everyone might need it, but only people who actually want to be healthy will buy it. Do some research on who those people are and where they are likely to actually buy your book. Understand their demographics: age group, income level, shopping habits, activities, etc. Now write for them. What information are your target readers looking for? Is their a gap in the information about a subject that is very familiar to you or in which you have the credentials to fill the gap? Make sure that your book solves a problem or problems for the reader, or make sure that your book will increase the well being of the reader. Avoid falling into the trap of writing to make yourself feel better – you are not the one who will buy your book. Or if you are, you are the only buyer that you will have!

The why, what and who now being defined, you can turn your attention to the where you can sell your book. Because there are many markets for books, decide early in the writing process just what those markets are and write to sell your book in those markets.

It is likely that the first market that will come to mind is traditional book stores, and of course they can be a vital part of your sales. Do your research in getting to know your competition on the book store shelves, i.e., look at the other books that have been written in your genre. What writing style is most appealing to a wide audience? Is there a gap in the information provided in the other books? Are there problems that have not been addressed? Find the needs and fill them. When you are satisfied with the information that you are providing, think about what will attract the book store buyers. They will want to know about your planned publicity campaign. If you want people to buy your book in book stores, you are responsible for letting people know that your book is available, thereby driving buyers to the stores.

Besides book stores, books are purchased in the nontraditional book market by display retailers, book clubs, catalogs, gift retailers, volume buyers (think Costco and Price Club), corporations, foundations and foreign markets. These markets are considered “hidden” because they exist outside the usual bookstore market, yet they account for many millions of dollars each year in book sales. In fact, we sell thousands of books to buyers like these every year (for more about our Book Marketing tips and secrets click here: Book Marketing Tips). These markets, however, do not buy any and every book. They are looking for books that appeal to their customers.

For instance, if you are writing a book about spiritual experiences, think about which of those markets will likely buy your book. Will you approach book clubs? If yes, which book clubs – those that specialize in spiritual books only, or those that market to the general public? Will you approach the gift market or catalogs? Each market evaluates its purchases for its own clientele. Book clubs that target the religious book reader have a greater interest in spiritual books than do general interest book clubs. Volume buyers, catalogs and gift buyers (unless they target a religious market), display retailers and corporations will very seldom buy a spiritual book. Foreign markets, however, are often very interested.

Even if your book is written for the general book trade, you can still think of corporations that might be able to use your book as a promotional item. Make a list of corporations that could be interested in your book and make sure that your writing supports their products or philosophy, and that what you are writing about will solve some problems for the corporate clients. For instance, one cookbook was targeted at busy people who want to follow a healthy lifestyle. It became a bestseller very quickly in the traditional book trade, but sales exploded when it was sold to pharmaceutical companies who used the book as support information for clients who needed to achieve a healthy weight. The book also sold successfully in foreign markets, to catalogs, as fund raisers and to shopping malls as a customer reward.

The point is: you need to know how to slant your writing for your markets. You can sometimes get around the road blocks by giving your book the look and feel of a gift book rather than one that is a “serious read”. Don’t give your book the look and feel of a thesis. Many volume buyers are looking for broad interest books that people buy on impulse as gifts. This approach to writing increases your market tremendously, so if you want to appeal to a very large audience, approach your subject from a much “lighter” angle.

However, if you are a professional speaker who knows that you have a very good chance of selling your book to your seminar attendees, and perhaps to the corporations who hire you, writing for a very broad market is not necessary. You are not even trying to sell to the impulse buyer. Your buyer is already looking for a source of expertise such as yours.

If you are planning to sell your book primarily from a website to a specific type of buyer, someone who is searching the internet for answers to a concern or problem, you can be as specific as you like. The general public, again in this instance, is not your market – you already have enough buyers to make you very successful.

So, before you begin the writing process, make an outline of your book. Then, look at your list of potential buyers. Have you filled their needs? If not, can you add information or chapters to your book that will increase the likelihood of sales to those buyers? If you want to sell thousands of books, think about the end user of your book and write for them, not for yourself. That is the ultimate book marketing tip. See you on the bestseller list!

Safety Tips for Budget Travelers in Foreign Countries

Safety Tips for Budget Travelers in Foreign Countries

There are many things to keep in mind when traveling, whether you are a budget traveler or not. You obviously want to keep what money you have for your trip rather than lose it or have it stolen. You also want to keep yourself and traveling companions safe from harm. Here are some tips to follow to ensure your trip is safe and enjoyable in a foreign country.

1. Have a valid passport and all visas required for your trip. Make two copies of your passport. Keep one in a separate part of your travel luggage and the other leave with someone at home.

2. Be aware of any travel warnings for the country you are visiting. Find out about security and safety conditions in your destination.

3. Secure travel insurance!

4. Ensure you have been vaccinated against any infectious diseases prominent in the area you will be traveling to.

5. To make sure you can be contacted in case of an emergency, make a copy of your itinerary and leave it with someone at home.

6. Travel light and don’t pack valuables that you wouldn’t want to lose. Leave your jewelry at home but take an extra pair of glasses if you can’t live without them.

7. Remember you are a foreigner when you travel. You are a guest in their country and therefore should abide by their laws, and to a certain extent, their customs. For example, if you are a female traveling in an Islamic state, be considerate of your dress.

8. Try not to bring too much attention to yourself when traveling. Don’t go out looking like a tourist with a flashy camera and expensive clothes. Try to blend into the scenery.

9. Travel in a group where possible and in well known areas. There will be times you want to get off the tourist track, so make sure you always have a traveling companion with you.

10. Only carry small amounts of cash on you. Your credit card and travelers checks will pay for most things.

11. Watch out for pickpockets! Wear a money belt and keep your purse/wallet in the front of your body. Report any loss or theft immediately to the local authorities.

12. Don’t leave your luggage unattended. Apart from having it stolen or items from it taken, you could also become an unsuspecting drug courier.

13. If traveling with a partner, pack half your clothes in their luggage and vice versa. This way if one of you loses your luggage, you will still have some clothes.

14. Lock your luggage and label everything.

15. Lock your hotel room. Keep money and valuables with you, not left unattended in your room.

16. When using public transport be aware of possible theft. If you are traveling overnight, secure your luggage and sleep on top of it if possible. It is not uncommon for tourists to be drugged while on trains and buses so don’t accept gifts of food or drink from strangers on public transport.

If at any time you feel unsafe, whether it is on the streets or in your accommodation, get out. Follow your instincts. Stay safe when you travel by being aware of the dangers and obeying the laws of the country you are visiting.

Seven SUV Rollover Tips

Seven SUV Rollover Tips

SUVs are notoriously known in the automobile industry for being quick to get into rollover accidents. While this is not a totally unfounded claim, it is also important to note that SUV rollovers typically don’t happen because of manufacturer defects or design flaws’ they happen because drivers are dangerous in a vehicle that is already prone to rollovers under certain conditions.

But how’s a driver to stay safe? SUV rollovers happen more commonly than rollovers in other vehicles because, essentially, SUVs are top heavy. There’s nothing you can really do to change that, short of not buying an SUV, but there are tips you can use to stay safe from SUV rollover no matter what kind of vehicle you drive. Take these tips to heart, they could very well save your life.

1. You can avoid SUV rollovers by choosing a smart SUV. Know what you’re buying before you buy it! Check out consumer reports, guides, and rollover ratings. In general, SUV rollovers are most likely to happen with vehicles that are tall and “skinny.” The best SUVs to buy when you’re hoping to prevent rollover are the ones that have a father distance between the tires in the back.

2. The second tip, which you cannot overlook, is to drive your SUV “like an SUV”. If you’re used to driving a car, or even a truck or van, it is tricky to jump into an SUV and take off. You can’t take curves as quickly in an SUV. If you try, rollover is likely. Before you speed down the highway, take a few days or weeks to learn the feel of your SUV’s steering, brakes, acceleration, and so on.

3. When dealing with an SUV, drive safely. This is, of course, the best tip to use when driving anything, but it is important to note that most SUV rollovers only happen when the SUV goes off of the main road.

If you’re chatting on your cell phone, doing your makeup in the car, or tending to yelling children in the backseat, it is much more likely that you’ll run off of the road, where you’ll hit a ditch, curb, bump, or obstacle and be thrown head over heels.

4. To go hand-in-hand with the last tip, drive according to the road conditions. SUV rollovers are more likely on rural roads, simply because potholes are more common. If you’re driving on a dirt road or road that rarely gets repaired after the winter, having an SUV can prevent you from sticking in the mud, but at the same time, a pothole can cause you to become off balance and, in effect cause an SUV rollover. Remember that driving for the road conditions also includes the weather. If it’s raining, snowing, or foggy, slow down.

5. Avoid panicking when steering. The common response to losing control is to over-steer in attempts to regain control. Don’t panic and fall into this trap! You’ll only make matters much worse. Instead, grab the wheel firmly and try to keep the vehicle going in a straight path, as you pump the brakes to slow. When you panic and steer sharply, it has the same effects of going around a turn too quickly, and SUV rollovers are common.

6. Keep your car in tip-top shape if you want to avoid SUV rollover. Most importantly, check your tire pressure. If one tire is running low on air, this will not only cause efficiency problems, but will also make your SUV be prone to rollover. Keep in mind also that ESC systems are now available to upgrade your SUV.

This kind of a system monitors your vehicle and your movements to prevent rollover. If you carry things in your SUV, make sure that these things are distributed evenly according to weight. Centrifugal force plays a huge roll in SUV rollovers, so check your loaded items often.

7. Wear your seatbelt. Okay, this isn’t exactly a way to prevent SUV rollovers, but it is a way to prevent death if your SUV should happen to rollover, for whatever reason. More fatalities occur because the driver or passenger was thrown completely or partially out of the SUV as it rolled, and reports show that buckling up can reduce your risk of death when in an SUV rollover by up to 75%.

Be safe, be smart, and if you do happen to become involved with an SUV rollover, which can happen to even the best drivers, contact a lawyer to learn about your legal rights.

Traffic Generation Tips To Explode Your Business

Traffic Generation Tips To Explode Your Business

Traffic generation is the key to an online business success. No Traffic means No Business. You could have the best product, best sales letter in the world but if no one knows about it sales are going to be very low. Bottom line is getting traffic is crucial.

Traffic generation are the marketing techniques you apply to generating leads for your business and building a massive database which overtime will convert into customers. There are off line and online marketing methods.

For the purpose of this article I will cover predominantly online methods for you to get started but there are hundreds of different techniques you can use to get traffic to your business.

Traffic generation or lead generation for any business tyically requires a cost which is significantly higher cost than getting a customer to buy more products from you, therefore, it is very important to great conversion strategies and retention strategies in place once your business is up and running so you can improve your bottom line.

Today technology is advanced and to many people often a daunting task and for that very reason may stop people from investing into Internet Marketing strategies to help increase sales. If this is the case I would do one of two things. First, I would look to employ someone who specialises in traffic generation. There are people out there today who do this as a full time job. Pay the professionals. Second, I would look to invest some time and money into self education. Alternatively, look towards a mentor or a coach to help you achieve your desired outcome.

Traffic Generation Techniques

There are 100s of ways to generate traffic to your site ranging from offline to online traffic. Some techniques will have a significant cost, others will be FREE, for example, saying to someone at a party here is my business card go and have a look at my site. So open your mind, you may focus on a couple of different methods to start with and then branch out with some more advanced strategies later after you have developed your skills and mastered some of the traffic generation techniques.

Here are a few to kick start your business

Low to No Cost Methods

1. Tell a friend

As mentioned above you surely have a few friends that may be interested. You obviously have a friendship so you may not want to do a hard sell but why dont you just say, I have just joined this program online, it is a way I am looking at making a bit of extra cash if you want to have a look here is the address. Then they can make there mind up yourself. You will probably already have a few people in mind that would most likely jump at the concept.

2. E-Mail

You can send out a group e-mail to all your friends, if they are not interested kindly just ask them to send it on to people that may be interested. If you are advanced you could look into setting up an auto responder. The system has an auto responder working on your behalf to convert your leads, however, we have personally introduced our own auto responder to improve our relationship with our leads to convert to m1 consultants or upgrading consultants from m1 to m3. The other value of our auto responder is we are going to provide valuable e-mails to help all consultants in our team build their business.

3. Social Networking Groups

Groups such as myspace, facebook, youtube are great ways you can sell your product. There are groups on social networking sites that you can join yourself; you can set up a page and just network with people. I joined facebook and had a number of people I had not spoken to in years find me, some of them were actually people that are interested in what I am doing now and have invested money into some business mentoring, and purchased products. You will be surprised at the power of these mediums to generate traffic to your site.

4. Buy a Baby Name Book

This is out there thinking but by going through the names in the book it my spark a thought of someone you know with that name that you can contact and direct them to your site. While not a traditional method, it is cost effective and certainly a way to spark your memory on someones name and then contact them and try to get them to look at your site.

5. Blogging

Blogging is probably a more advanced strategy but it can be free by joining wordpress.com, or blogger.com and setting up a blog post which is effectively an online diary.

This certainly helps drive traffic to your site, it helps build rapport with your customers and creates a connection. Blogging also helps with search engine optimisation.

Some other advanced blogging strategies including

a)Commenting on other peoples blogs and adding your URL on their blog

b)Submit your blog to directories. Directories such as Digg.com and Decicious.com have heaps of traffic.

c)List your products in your blog rolls

d)Google Adsense (listed below)

e)Product reviews with a resource box at the end of the review

f)Give your blog content for other people to use

6. Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)

SEO is the process of ranking your website in the free part of Google or other search engines. Google looks at the code of each website and ranks your site based on a number of features. It is obviously important to get as close to the top as possible because that increases your chances of making a sale or having people click onto your website. The first thing Google looks at is the title tag at the top of the page and the last thing is the bottom right hand of the page. It is known as the first and last principle. You want to have the same keyword at the top and bottom of the page. Some other key features that help with page rank include page title, meta description tag, meta key word tag. This is a simplified look at SEO and can be effected by a number of off page strategies also but if you at least do the basics you will improve your chances of generating some more traffic.

7. Google Ad Words

Google Ad Words is effectively paying for your leads. You put an ad up and when people click on the ad it will cost you money. It can be costly if you do not have any idea on what you are doing. My advice is only start exploring this avenue once you are either generating sales and have some cash to invest in marketing strategies or are very savvy in this area. In saying all that it is a great way to build a database and make some sales once you understand how to do it properly.

8. Zango

Very similar to setting up a Google ad words campaign. It is an online media company that gives people free access to games, videos and other online entertainment. In return for the free content they agree to view targeted advertising.

9 eBay

There are over 270 million people on eBay holding a credit card in their hands. Therefore, for any business in the world I would suggest if you want to get an online presence and do not understand Internet Marketing have an eBay business and set up your store. You can not directly direct traffic from eBay however there are a number of people that creatively send traffic from their eBay business to their Internet business.

10. Google Ad Sense

You can advertise on other peoples websites and blogs and it is a pay per click method. Internet Marketers advertise their products on their own websites because it increases sales significantly.

11. Articles

You can submit articles to article submission websites. Great examples of article submission websites include articlemarketer.com and you can direct the traffic to a specific site. With article submission the subject line is crucial. Like Google adwords and Zango you need to use great key words in your subject line that you think people would put in the search section of Google to find your product. Another important thing to understand with articles is that you only want to advertise at the end of the article and in particular in the authors resource box. Have great content in the article and then they will want to buy your product at the end of the article and then from the authors resource box send them to a forced opt-in page. On the forced opt in offer a free report, newsletter or some form of free gift and then once they have opted into your page have a sales letter with the product. In this instance you drive your traffic to your site and once people opt into your page you will have an auto responder set up to convert your leads.

12. Create products to give away

Another traffic generation technique is to create products. You could write an eBook, create a video or audio and with your product you could promote throughout the product. One method is create a product and give the resale rights to your product. You advertise at the start of the product and the end of the product and maybe with a footer at the bottom of the page. You give people the rights to sell your eBook and keep all the money and the trade off is you can get traffic and branding. That is a win win situation.

13. Hiring someone to drive the traffic

If you are not technically minded, or are not interested in self-education I would strongly recommend you pay someone to drive the traffic to the site. There are plenty of people you can pay to do it for you. Obviously, you would want to budget for this and like any business you need to have a budget for marketing, your budget is set up for outsourcing traffic generation.

14. Affiliate marketing

Save the best for last

Regarded as the greatest way to market your product is by affiliate marketing and giving people commissions for making a sale on your behalf.

These techniques will certainly improve your ability to make a sale and generate sales for you business. As suggested, improve your self help knowledge on traffic generation because once you know how to drive traffic to a site you certainly have significant power in generating more sales and profit for your business. Once again you can have the best product and the best sales letter in the world but if you can not drive traffic to the site you do not have a business.
