SUV Rollover Accidents – What to Know Before Buying an SUV

SUV Rollover Accidents – What to Know Before Buying an SUV

SUVs – Sport Utility Vehicles – are more popular than ever. Ownership of SUVs increased dramatically by 250% in the United States from 1995 to 2002 as many people, especially families, were seduced into buying an SUV partly in the belief that bigger meant safer.

If you are thinking of buying an SUV, there is good news and bad news as far as safety is concerned. In general an SUV is more than twice as likely to roll over in an accident as a car. Children are especially at risk, they are three times more likely to be injured in an SUV rollover accident than if they were in a car.

And contrary to popular belief, the more weight that an SUV carries, the higher the chance of an accident. Most SUVs are designed – and owners are encouraged – to carry extra weight in the form of extra passengers and cargo, whether it is on the road or off the road. One way to minimize the risk of a rollover if you do drive an SUV is to drive with less weight.

In 2004 (the most recent year with data available) rollover accidents killed just over 10,000 people in the United States. Rollovers are actually rare (less than 3% of all car crashes) but they are responsible for around 30% of all traffic related fatalities. However, rollovers are particularly serious types of accident as they often result in head injuries, or passengers being thrown from vehicles.

The good news is that SUVs are currently safer than ever, a trend that seems certain to continue. An increasing number of SUVs are being made with electronic stability control which dramatically decreases the chance of an accident. This may become a requirement in the next few years.

Manufacturers are also making more so-called car-based SUVs, vehicles that combine the appearance of a car and an SUV. These usually ride closer to the ground than regular SUVs and are therefore significantly safer. And at least fifteen major car manufacturers have agreed that by 2009, all their SUVs would be built lower to the ground, saving an estimated 600 to 800 lives every year.

Other safety features are being introduced. Newer SUVs now have rollover air bags, designed specifically to protect passengers from injury during a rollover. A sensing device will detect a rollover and trigger an airbag to inflate, usually on the side of the vehicle, at the same time tightening the seat belts.

If you are still interested in an SUV, choose your model carefully. Cost, features, and gas mileage will all influence your purchase, but safety should also play an important part in deciding which make and model to buy. Many automotive web sites offer unbiased reviews of SUVs and their safety rating.

Give some thought as to whether you really need an SUV. Statistics show that fewer than 5% of owners will actually use their SUV off the road. A car or minivan may suit your needs just as well, and will usually cost less.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) published rankings for 2006 which show which SUVs are most and least likely to rollover in an accident. The figures are based on the chances of a rollover in a single vehicle accident, they don’t take in to account multi-vehicle accidents. The figures also don’t take into account what causes the accident in the first place.

The least likely models to rollover are the Chevrolet HHR, Ford Freestyle and Chrysler Pacifica. The models most likely to rollover are the Nissan Xterra and the Chevrolet Avalanche along with several other models hovering just behind these two as far as the rankings are concerned.

Car manufacturers are understandably concerned with these rankings, the cost in financial terms and buyer confidence is enormous. There have been a spate of vehicle recalls over the last few years; one of the most far-reaching was by Ford in 2003, recalling almost 1.7 million Explorers and Mercury Mountaineers. And Toyota recalled almost a million SUVs in 2005 because of a defect that could possibly affect the ability to steer the vehicle.

So before you buy your next SUV, do a little research. It may just save your life if you are involved in an accident.

Things You Should Know Before Shopping For Elegant Vintage Rings

Things You Should Know Before Shopping For Elegant Vintage Rings

Whilst to some individuals, it may seem little outlandish to buy engagement rings other than diamond rings, many persons nowadays are now opting for acquiring vintage emerald engagement rings. Buying vintage rings is a tremendous idea as it permits one to buy a unique ring to girl he wants to marry which is not like other rings available in market. There are many who have same basic solitaire plain-band engagement rings that every other lady has. If one wishes to give his future-wife something more special, he will certainly wish to go with silver vintage rings.

Common types of vintage rings

Vintage rings may be stunning, and different from the trends famous in contemporary jewelry shops. If one is interested in purchasing silver vintage rings to mark engagement, below are given some popular styles:

Victorian: Victorian wedding bands and rings date from the era of 1900. This style is quite elaborate, and several real Victorian rings do not feature diamond. Pearls were taken as conventional gem during that time, though they do not stand-up with everyday wear and are not recommended for modern engagement rings. Several Victorian style rings feature a sequence of semi precious or precious gems carved in row.
Edwardian style:   The vintage wedding rings formed in this style features rose-cut, a domed, round style which has been used since the sixteenth century. These silver vintage rings date from 1900 to 1920 and often come with beautiful platinum bands set in elaborate scrollwork and intricate designs. These styles were conventionally ornate and complex. Flowers, hearts, vines and birds along band were very common. Now-a-days, platinum and white gold are famous band metals, while yellow ‘gold’ is rare in the rings.
Art Deco: This age witnessed the vintage engagement rings redesigned in an efficient, contemporary way to go with patterns of times. The Art Deco style, during the era of 1920 to 1930 witnessed several square diamond in step cut designs, highlighting clarity instead of glitter, and shiny, smooth platinum bands.

When purchasing vintage wedding ring or wedding band, one needs to be certain that several jewelry stores make use of the term ‘vintage’ to refer ‘rings’ which are nearly 50 years old. The estate engagement rings may be as old as vintage ring, but they may also be recent.   Many jewelry stores nowadays sell vintage style rings which are designed after the trend of certain epoch, but actually are not from that period.

The best sites to hunt for authentic vintage rings are specialists in the sector, even though one can find great items at online stores, as well as in estate sales or pawn shops. The problem for new buyers is the knowledge and time needed to find out an authentic vintage ring.

Above all, vintage rings are great replication of period piece. However, if one wants a real ‘engagement ring’, then jewelry stores that focus on antique rings are best alternatives.

Guys: 2 Things You Need to Know Before You Pursue an Intimate Relationship With a Woman

Guys: 2 Things You Need to Know Before You Pursue an Intimate Relationship With a Woman

There may be a time where you’ll come across a woman who only wants a sexual relationship. Before you rush into one with her, there are a few things you need to consider.

Here are the two things you absolutely need to know before being intimate:

1. Feelings may start to develop. This can be very disastrous to the relationship. Since the relationship is built solely on intimacy, this alone can ruin your chances for another intimate encounter. If she’s intimate with you, she may have feelings for you anyway…at least sexually. If you are intimate with a woman who just want something sexual, then DO NOT EXPECT ANYTHING MORE THAN THAT. If you try to express how you feel about her, or worse, push a relationship on her, she may decline.. It may also ruin your chances for any future intimate encounters.

2. She’s probably in a relationship. There’s probably a lack of intimacy that she’s experiencing in her relationship, so she looks elsewhere. Though she’s cheating, it may make sense to her to try to figure out a solution…especially if she has already expressed to her significant other the problem. What you need to do is decide if you really want to be with someone who’s already involved. Take into consideration that there are many possible outcomes in this situation…like her man may become more intimate with her so therefore she may cut you off.

If you feel like you can still handle a sexual relationship, then by all means, have one. But always remember what it is…just something sexual and nothing more. Take that into serious consideration.

Discus Fish – What You Need to Know Before Keeping Discus Fish

Discus Fish – What You Need to Know Before Keeping Discus Fish

With a compressed rounded body shape and gorgeous colors of green, red, brown and blue, (There are 4 ‘real’ discus variants, with their own Latin name. The rest of the color variants are captive bred and the list of these color variants is nearly endless. They have exotic names like, ‘White Diamond’, ‘Blue Diamond’ ‘Snake Skin’, etc… ) discus fish are among the most popular aquarium freshwater fish in the world. Native from the Amazon River, Wild caught discus fish first started to appeared in the 1920s, discus fish are spread all over the world being part of true industries in Asia, for instance. When they reach adulthood, discus fish are no bigger than eight to ten inches and they make great pets, bringing an excellent array of lively color to your house. Make sure you know everything about the needs of this fish breed before even thinking about keeping them, though discus fish are not very fragile, they still require a lot of care.

Discus fish make excellent aquarium inhabitants and they can be combined with other species in the habitat, the best choices would be the uaru or the tetras species. Normally discus fish are very serene creatures; they are a bit sensitive to stress and a disturbing environment but most fish are. However it is not too great an idea to combine them with fish that are quite a bit smaller, as the discus fish may eat them. It is also totally unadvisable to combine any variety of discus fish with catfish since you might find you just end up with fat catfish and no discus. Like all aquarium creatures, discus fish require optimal living conditions; otherwise they are exposed to disease and may die.

As the natural water temperature the discus fish are used to, is around 26-31 degrees Celsius ( 79 to 88 °F ), you will have to recreate and maintain very similar conditions. The hardness of the water ranges from 3 to 10° dGH. Additionally, in the wild, the environment discus fish live in is slightly acid, so make sure you adjust the pH values to such coordinates, between 5.5 and 6.5 the pH is completely friendly to your pets. If the discus fish were bred in captivity they may just as well adapt to higher pH values, but not during the mating season when you really have to provide optimal conditions.

Keep in mind that discus fish are very clean animals, and the water you put in their tank has to be really clean, without the any trace of pollution whatsoever. You need to use a high capacity filter to cycle the water constantly.

There are plenty of information sources to learn more on discus fish and their breeding; such a reliable site is discus fish blog that will definitely assist you in satisfying the needs of your discus fish. Always stay informed on feeding and breeding habits of your friends, as you’re thus watching over the health of your discus fish.

We Buy Houses – Do YOU Know The Top 5 Ways to Sell Your House Fast in Austin Texas?

Think listing your home with a Realtor is the only way to sell?

Think again! With today’s glut of underpriced foreclosures on the market and house values dropping steadily, there is not only a lot of competition out there, but houses must be priced right to compete! In reality, in Austin Texas it can take many months to sell a house through a Realtor. After all, it is a “Buyer’s Market” right now.

But what if you don’t HAVE months to wait to sell your home?

What if your Austin Texas house needs repairs or updating to attract buyers your Realtor brings over?

What if, like many Americans, the mortgage is a little behind and you want to see if you can “get out from under it”…and fast!

What if the property was 100% financed and you owe more than it’s worth?

What if the house is in foreclosure, an auction date has been set, and time is running out?

The good news is that there ARE ways to sell your Austin Texas home fast, and it may be even easier than you thought!

Yes, even in today’s market it is possible to sell your home fast, though it may not be through a Realtor.

There are alternatives that many folks are just not aware of. Believe it or not, there are ways to sell your Austin house fast, without having to use a Realtor, while paying ZERO fees, commissions, buyers’ concessions, or repair costs!

When you sell your Austin Texas house to us, you’re offered at least FIVE programs to ensure your house is sold FAST, and the anxiety is gone!

We can pay all cash to you. If you need us to, we can pay you all cash for your property and close quickly! How can we do this? Unlike a traditional buyer who is at the mercy of the banks trying to qualify for a loan, we’re a professional house-buying (investment) company, which means we have the ready funds to quickly buy your Austin Texas house ALL CASH. There is no waiting and wondering like there would be with a traditional buyer who needs to get qualified for a loan, cancel their existing lease, etc, etc.

Plus, we buy properties AS-IS, meaning even if it needs repairs (big or small) or updating, we don’t care! We buy houses in any condition, and we won’t try to make you pay us extra at closing toward repair costs, like you would with a traditional sale of a less-than-perfect home. What a hassle!

And we buy Austin houses FAST! If you simply can’t, or don’t want to, make another mortgage payment, we can close in as little as 24 hours! No more waiting and worrying when, or if, your house will sell! We can make you an offer immediately, and we close when we say we’re going to close, which is often lightning fast!

We can take over your payments. We can buy your house in Austin Texas by making the payments going forward and give you cash to move into a new place. We pay for any fix-up costs if needed and if payments are behind, we are responsible for catching up the payments to save your credit and relieve your anxiety.

We can buy your house for less than you owe (if you have little to no equity)! We do this by negotiating the mortgage balance with your lender on your behalf. If you wouldn’t be able to sell your house with a real estate agent without having to write a big, fat check at the closing, then this is likely your solution. We have an experienced team of negotiators who KNOW how to deal with tough banks! We know exactly what lenders are looking for!

We can help you with a house swap! If you want to buy another house, but you can’t until you’ve sold your house, we can help you with a “house swap.” Not only can we buy your house, but we’ll help move you into a new one that you like.

Need to Know Facts Regarding Lawsuit Settlement Loans

Need to Know Facts Regarding Lawsuit Settlement Loans

If you’ve ever been a plaintiff in a lawsuit or been involved with a plaintiff in a pending lawsuit then you’ve probably came across the term lawsuit loan or settlement loan at one time or another. A lawsuit settlement loan is a method for a plaintiff involved in a lawsuit to get access to funds prior to a settlement or verdict in their pending lawsuit. The funds can be used for whatever purpose the plaintiff needs it for, including medical bills, legal bills, and mortgage\car payments or even to purchase a new home or automobile.

One of the most favorable aspects of a lawsuit settlement loan to plaintiffs is the fact that lawsuit loans are considered non-recourse debts, and not actual loans. The phrase “settlement loan” or “lawsuit loan” is just static in the industry, when in fact they are really non-recourse debts. The reason they are considering non-recourse debts and not actual loans is the pay back agreement they are based upon. A settlement or lawsuit loan is not required to be paid back if the lawsuit reaches a verdict in favor of the defendant. However, if the plaintiff gets the favorable verdict and receives monetary awards the plaintiff is liable for repayment on the loaned amount, interest and any fees.

Another aspect that is enticing to a plaintiff is the approval process of lawsuit settlement loans. Since lawsuit settlement loans are non-recourse debts the approval process is based on the merit of the physical lawsuit itself. A plaintiff’s credit history, employment history and income status play no role in the approval process; again this is due to the fact that the only way a lawsuit settlement loan provider gets payment back is if the lawsuit reaches a verdict in favor of the plaintiff. Since legal agreements signed by the settlement loan provider, attorney and the plaintiff secure how awards are distributed there is no need for the plaintiff to actually pay back the loan; the portion owed to the provider is directly paid to them via your attorney or settlement payout provider.

There are some side effects to lawsuit loans, they tend to have interests rates that higher than the normal average interest rate at any given time. This is understandable due to the nature of how these companies receive payment back from the plaintiff. There are usually one-time fees included with lawsuit settlement loans and are usually based on the amount of money being loaned to the plaintiff. Beyond those two facts lawsuit settlement loans are a great way for plaintiffs to secure funding during their pending lawsuit. If you’d like to learn more about settlement loans please follow the below information.

7 Pearl Jewelry Terms You Must Know

7 Pearl Jewelry Terms You Must Know

When shopping for pearl jewelry, whether online or in a jewelry store, you are going to see and hear some industry terms that you may not be that familiar with. You’ll be told that the nacre of this pearl is thick, it’s luster is excellent, it’s surface is clean and that is why it retails for 9. The only thing you might recognize from that description is the price! So educating yourself on the terminology used to describe pearl jewelry before you begin shopping will allow you to accurately compare pearls from one another, understand their value, and can lead you to making a very good purchase on quality pearls. You may even end up saving a few dollars just by knowing a few terms!

Cultured vs Natural

Let’s start with knowing the difference between Cultured Pearls and Natural Pearls. While both are real pearls, the way they are created is what sets them apart. Cultured pearls are harvested on pearl farms in controlled conditions. With the assistance of pearl farmers, they insert an object into the mollusk to jump start the creation of the pearl. The end result is still an authentic pearl that carries the same properties as a natural pearl.

Natural pearls by contrast are those found in their natural environment. They are pearls that have been stumbled upon by chance. Therefore, natural pearl jewelry may carry a heavier price tag than cultured pearl jewelry because of the unique, natural quality they have. Cultured pearls tend to be more affordable because of their ability to be mass produced. However, each is still very similar in their qualities and authenticity.

Shape

As you study the pearls that interest you, pay close attention to the shape of the pearl. The closer each pearl is to a perfect sphere or being perfectly round, the higher in value the jewelry will be. Round pearls are pretty rare to come across and only account for a small percentage of the pearls coming out of pearl farms.

From there, you will see the term Near-round to describe pearls that are not quite perfectly round, but close to it. Oval pearls look just as they sound. Button style pearls are pearls that appear to be thinner, or squashed by comparison. Drop pearls have the appearance of a tear drop.

Lastly are Baroque pearls. These pearls are irregular in shape and are non-symmetrical as well. In fact, the actual shapes of a baroque pearl can range from simply being semi-round to stick or cross shaped. Many times however, a strand of baroque pearls will be similar to each other thus creating a uniform strand. Incidentally, Tahitian and South Sea baroque pearls are also very unique as the process to create them takes much longer. Therefore, their value may be considered greater.

Nacre / Mother-of-Pearl

Nacre, or mother-of-pearl, is a secretion of calcium carbonate and conchiolin that a mollusk will release to cover an object such as a grain of sand that has entered the mollusk. This object acts as an irritant and triggers the secretion to begin. Layers and layers of nacre will build around this object and leads to the production of a pearl. In fact, a real pearl can be identified by its layers of nacre present. The thicker the nacre, the higher quality and more durable your pearl is against nicks, scratches and overall wear and tear.

Luster

Luster is a term used to describe a pearls ability to reflect light. The more translucent each layer of the pearl, the greater its ability to reflect light. You can visually determine a pearls luster by its ability to show your reflection or have shine to it. If the pearl is dull or really doesn’t have a reflection, then it is considered to be poor in quality.

Surface

A pearls surface can be described as clean, blemished or marked. The surface is basically how you see the pearl. Looking at it, do you see any marks or discolorations in its coating or color? If you do, these are the pearls blemishes or marks. If a pearl does not appear to have any, then it is described as clean. A pearl with a clean surface is considered to have a higher value than a pearl with a blemished surface. If you have your eyes set on a strand of clean pearls, be sure that the strand is uniform and that each pearl has a clean surface. While blemished pearls are considered to be lesser in value, they are still considered to be of good quality. Pearls whose surface is so poor generally do not make it to the jewelry stage.

Color

Colors of pearls vary from bright whites to rich shades of black. The color of the pearl will depend on the types of pearls you are looking at. For instance Akoya pearls generally come in whites with cream or pink overtones. Tahitian pearls on the other hand are most likely black or shades of gray. South Sea pearls meanwhile are generally associated with golden pearls.

The color of pearls really doesn’t affect the pricing of it. However you will want to be sure that all of the other quality factors still apply to the pearls you are considering. Your choice of colored pearls should be chosen carefully to compliment your skin tone. As a rule of thumb, people with tan or darker skin tones tend to find darker pearls or pearls with cream overtones to compliment their skin best. Women with lighter, fairer skin will find that pearls with pink or rose overtones work well.

Grades

With so many terms used to describe pearl jewelry, it’s not a wonder we felt the need to write this article! However, all of these characteristics can be combined and defined with a simple grade. Yes, pearls receive grades based upon their quality. There are three grades that can be assigned to a pearl ranging from A to AAA.

A pearl with a grade of AAA means these pearls are of the highest quality and greatest value. It means all of the characteristics listed out above are of the best conditioning. You can expect these types of pearls to be higher in price.

Pearl jewelry given a grade of AA is your middle of the road pearl. The pearls generally will be round or near-round shape and may have slight blemishes here and there. These and the rest of the qualities will either be considered of high quality or slightly below.

Lastly, pearl jewelry given an A generally means you’ll find a few more blemishes, a lower luster quality, and either a near round or semi-round shape. It is important to note that pearls with a lower grade do not necessarily mean they are not worth the investment. They are still quality, authentic pearls that have been matched with each other to create a uniform, cohesive set of pearl jewelry.

Perhaps you may not be able to remember all of the terminology, but knowing the significance of a pearls grade will ensure you will be able to select a quality piece of jewelry that is worth the asking price. Now you hopefully will be able to go into a jewelry shop, online or off, and will have a clear advantage to make a smart purchasing decision. Couple this information with knowing the different types of pearls available and you will be all set!

Know Your Course: Tees

Know Your Course: Tees

Since its inception, golf has been the world’s most elegant sport. The rules and the discipline entailed in every golfer is the main reason why the game is considered to exude sheer combination of style and sportsmanship in the game.

However, golf will not be complete without its basic components. These things are used to facilitate the process of playing the game.

One of the main components of golf is the tee. On its basic concept, golf tees are those used as stands that holds the golf ball during the player’s “first stroke” in each hole.

Tee is also used to unofficially refer to the area from which the player hit his or her primary stroke. It is formally known as the “teeing ground”. Such that when a player is said to play on the golf course’ ninth hole, the player is said to play from the “ninth tee” to the ninth green.

Consequently, the first shot hit by the player from a “teeing ground” is known as a tee shot. For lengthy holes, tee shots can be done using a driver; while for shorter holes, it is best to use an iron.

Typically, using tees while on the verge of hitting the ball is not allowed after the tee shot has been done. However, there are instances wherein some rules of golf allow this kind of technique known as “teeing the ball.”

Too complicated? Read on.

Information on golf tees may range from the simplest to the most complex information. This is because the term “tee” is being used to refer to many things in a golf game.

Therefore, for people who wish to know more about tees, here is a list that can be used in order to understand the concept and importance of tees in golf.

1. The act of teeing is beneficial for drive shots.

Teeing, on its basic idea is considered as advantageous for players who do drive shots. In this case, teeing is allowed most of the time.

Alternatively, teeing is not allowed after the tee shot has been delivered. Any shots where tees are used will be considered illegal.

2. Tee shots can be executed without the use of tees.

As mentioned, tees are used when the first shot is played on the hole of the teeing ground. If in the event that the first shot is considered as a chip, a short “approach shot” of low flight usually strike from next to the green, the player can have his or her tee shot without using a tee.

3. Normal size of golf tee

The typical size of a golf tee is 2.125 inches in length. However, tee sizes may vary depending on their length, and on how they will be used in the game.

4. Forward tees are best for beginners

It is highly recommended by experts that forward tees should be used by beginners. Forward tees are usually used by high or middle handicap seniors and women.

5. Three different set of tees with three different functions

There are three different set of tees available in golf. These are the back tees, middle tees, and the forward tees.

Each set of tees has its special function.

In choosing which set of tees are appropriate for a certain type of player, it is best to consider the player’s handicap, or the amount of strokes that he or she must subtract from his or her real score. This is usually done to initiate players who have different capabilities to contend on an equal level.

Hence, for those who are low-handicap, it is best to use back tees, also known as championship tees. For middle to high handicap men, long-hitting or low-handicap seniors, and low-handicap women, it is best to use middle tees.

On the other hand, forward tees are best for beginners and low-handicap seniors and women.

With all of these things in mind, every golfer should realize by now how important tees are in the game. Without these tees, the game cannot officially start with the first hole.

Therefore, even if it is relatively complicated to understand the basic concept of tees, still, it is important for a golf player to know its concept and the rules that surround it in order to achieve something in golf.

Headaches During Pregnancy, are They Normal. Do You Know How to Ease Your Pregnancy Headaches?

Headaches during pregnancy are very challenging as over the counter pain killers are not recommended. Read on to see what you can do to relieve the pain from your headaches during pregnancy.

First of all let’s address why some pregnant women suffer from headaches during pregnancy. Within the first 12 weeks of pregnancy the surging hormones play a part in the development of pregnancy headaches. The 40% increase in blood volume that occurs during pregnancy increases pressure within the blood vessels and this itself can cause pregnancy headaches. Headaches during the last month of pregnancy may also be caused by a condition called preeclampsia, which is associated with high blood pressure, swelling and protein in the urine.

It is normal to have headaches during pregnancy because of the above reasons plus the following:

Stress

Lack of sleep

Vomiting

Low blood sugar

Dehydration

Caffeine withdrawal

Nicotine withdrawal

Poor posture

Pregnancy related vision changes

What you can do to ease your pregnancy headaches:

Reduce stress.

Get more sleep.

Treat your early morning sickness.

Eat regularly to avoid low blood sugar levels.

Drink adequate amounts of high quality water.

Get chiropractic adjustments and advice to correct your posture.

Avoid over the counter medication especially during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy.

Consult a homeopath or an acupuncturist for treatments to relieve your pain.

Pregnancy headaches are sometimes relieved with either hot or cold compress around your forehead and on the back of your neck.

Have someone massage your shoulders and neck during acute pregnancy headaches.

Rest in a dark room and practice deep relaxation breathing.

Relaxing in a warm bath or shower sometimes reduces the stress and tension.

The fruit mangosteen is well known to support every system in the body. It is all natural and can relieve and prevent pregnancy headaches.

You tried all the above and you still have a pregnancy headache:

At this point it would be appropriate to call your doctor or midwife for advice.

Have your eyesight checked as you may need glasses or a change in glasses.

If you experience any of these symptoms below with a headache call your physician or midwife immediately as these are signs of a severe pregnancy complication called pre-eclampsia:

Blurred vision

Right sided abdomen pain

Swollen hands and face

Sudden weight gain

Feeling very agitated or restless

Pregnancy headaches can be very painful and very frustrating, as it is not recommended that you use over the counter medication during pregnancy. I have assisted pregnant women in the past to make their headaches a little more manageable or made them go away with a one on one coaching-healing phone sessions.

Do You Know What to Eat to Lose Weight – Or What Not to Eat to Lose Weight?

Do you have the following ideas of taking diets when trying to lose weight?

*I should not eat too much carohydrates.

*I should cut out all the fats.

* I should eat less everyday.

If you want to know more about these ideas, read on.

Many people do not understand what to eat to lose weight. They think that in order to lose weight they must take extreme measures to do so. Sadly, the only thing extreme measures do in most cases is cause the person to fail. The good news is that there are simple changes you can make in your diet that will lead to weight loss in a much healthier way. A person who loses weight by eating healthy instead of taking extreme measures will most likely keep that weight off longer than a person who loses weight through extremes.

We all know that what we put in our mouths directly affects our weight, and therefore our health. If we want to lose weight the healthy way, we have to learn to eat a sensible diet with a balance of food groups such as fat, protein and carbs.

For the same reason, you must eat a balanced diet that will fill your body with the vitamins and minerals it needs. It is unwise to cut out complete food groups from our diets. This type of dieting usually does not lead to prolonged weight loss and can actually hurt our health rather than help our bodies become healthier.

With the South Beach and Atkins trends in the past several years, many potential dieters are under the assumption that in order to lose weight, they must cut out all carbohydrates. In reality, it is the type of carbohydrate you eat that makes a difference. While simple carbohydrates such as sugar and white flour can spike the body’s blood sugar levels and leave the dieter feeling lethargic, complex carbohydrates give our bodies its energy. Consuming whole grains is an excellent way to consume carbohydrates that benefit our bodies.

The same rules apply to fats. The truth about fat is that our bodies actually need it in order to survive. The key is eating good fats such as nuts, olive oil and flax seed instead of animal fats.

By doing simple things such as reading food labels before dec iding what to eat to lose weight can make a huge difference in the amount of calories a person eats in a day. Many foods have hidden calories in them that you may not even realize your are consuming them if you do not read the labels.

What to eat to lose weight is a question many of us have. There are foods that are healthier for us than others, and if eaten in moderation, can help us lose weight.
